What is a LAN Party?

A LAN party is a gathering of people with computers or compatible game consoles, where a local area network connection is established between the devices using a router or switch, primarily for the purpose of playing multiplayer video games together

Is there an age limit?

Under 14's must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18. Under 18's will be required to have a signed parental form.

Do I need to be good at games?

Absolutely not. We have attendees of all skill levels. We play for fun!

Will my stuff be safe?

We do not take any responsibility for any lost or stolen items. However, we do have staff in the hall throughout the weekend to discourage any of this happening.

Is there food available on site?

It depends on the venue. If it's the BigWAN we serve hot food and drinks at scheduled times throughout the weekend. If it's the WeeWAN then it's bring your own food. Both venues do have kitchen facilities that can be used with fridges, microwaves and kettles.

Can I bring alcohol to the event?

You can bring alcohol to the event, as long as you're over the age of 18. If you are caught drinking underage your parents will be called and you shall be asked to leave the event. Please drink responsibly!

Are there tournament prizes??

We only offer custom Gaming Scotland trophies for Tournament prizes at our BigWan event. We do have a free raffle with prizes that's included within your ticket purchase on the Sunday at BigWan. No prizes or raffle are given at WeeWan though.

What games are played at the events?

Anything and everything. Just let us know what you'd like to play!

Are spectators allowed at the event?

Yes. They can attend between 9am and 10pm. They can however stay and spectate over night with a £5 fee. Spectators cannot enter tournaments or the raffle.

Is there disabled access to the event?

At our BigWan event there is disabled access to the event and it is all across one level on the ground floor with disabled access toilets. Our WeeWan event due to the nature of the building does not disabled accessible as there are a flight of stairs going up to where the LAN is hosted and the toilets being on the floor below with no disabled toilet access.

Do I need to bring my own ethernet cable?

No, we supply all ethernet cables and you will have one awaiting you at your desk that's already connected to the network.

Do you provide computers or games for participants?

No, you need to bring your own computer and use your own games.

Can I bring a console instead of a PC?

You sure can, although just remember you will be limited to the games you play as most don't support cross-platform.

Is there parking?

There is plenty of space for parking at both of our events.
